busy toddlers...

I'm going to try to get a good post in here while I have the chance!
The babies and I had a great morning- I love when they wake up happy and we can get some good play time in, run some errands, eat well, and then even take a nap!! We've had two big challenges lately: the first being both babies' business. I know it's their age, but just when I think I've thought of (and child-proofed) everything, I leave the laundry room for a moment and return to find Oliver SITTING on the washing machine with his feet IN the water! Or Violet halfway up the stairs after climbing UNDER the baby gate! The funny thing is that often the twin that isn't, um, being creative at that moment will often "tattle" on the other one. For instance, when Violet stands on the kitchen chair, I'll hear Oliver yelling "sit down!" ( in his gibberish). Love it.
The second challenge is semi-tantrums. Oliver's been having them occasionally since he was 15 months or so, and I've learned that ignoring him or distracting him is best. Recently, Violet started herself, only instead of dropping to her knees and crying to the heavens, she balls up her fists and screams (probably no real surprise to any of us...). Her scream is unlike anything I've ever heard. Not baby-scream or animal-in-pain-scream or even my-leg-is-caught-in-the-crib-slats-scream. Imagine watching the scariest horror film ever, with everyone demon, ghost, monster and possessed little girl in it, and have them all shreik at the same time. That's close to Violet. And, unfortunately is happens every time we put her in her car seat. Or anywhere she'd prefer not to be at that moment. I'm not sure I've ever received public looks like I do when she screams. ugh.

I'm adding two videos: the top one is Violet having fallen asleep in her high chair (after missing her nap), while Oliver and I try to awaken her. The below is bathtime, with Violet singing the ABC song (until she gets distracted and I finish on my own-sorry).
