One year old. Amazing.

Birthday boy, with crown!

"Ooh..whatever is on sissy's bib looks yummy to me!"

Can you believe the chompers Oliver has grown?

Both babes liked the plates more than the cake!

"Seriously, guys? I have to wear this?"
"Alright, mother. I'll wear it, but I'm not happy about it."

The babies new pianos from Great-Grama!

Wow. Our first entry about two one-year-olds. I have such a range of emotions about this! Gratitude, of course, that we have been blessed with such beautiful, healthy, happy babies. Relief, that we are even farther away from the days of colic, reflux, fear of strollers, and anxiety about weight gain. And melancholy, that the days of "months-speak" are behind us ("the twins are six months old!"), and that they are becoming increasingly more independent and toddler-like.
The party went wonderfully! All forecasts called for thunderstorms, but we ended up having a perfect, sunny day! The Sheaffers, Shaws and Pilgermayers were (almost) all there to celebrate, which was a huge gift. I feel like the babies are really getting comfortable with their extended families, and I love it! They did so well on their big day, and (I think) actually had a really good time! Both jammed their fingers into the cake, but had no interest in eating it (which is fine with mommy!).
I'm going to post a ridiculous number of photos (thanks to Auntie Dana for her ridiculous contribution!), but just in random order.
