our weekend

What a nice weekend we had! Friday morning, we woke up to a ton of snow (not upstate New York or Milwaukee snow, but a lot for Philadelphia!). We all got bundled up at 6:30 am, and took the babies in the front yard to experience their first snowfall. It was still snowing then, and beautiful out. They loved looking at the snow, but were more interested in watching the doggies next door frolicking in it! Friday night was one of our toughest in a while. Both babies had a little bout of insomnia, I guess, with one being up at 2am, the other at 4am (not wanting to share mom and dad time with the other, of course!). They weren't crying or hungry; just wanted to hang out, watch a little Baby Shakespeare, play with mommy's neck, etc. Maybe a growth spurt? Future teeth? Ben and I have forbade each other from trying to figure it out.

Our friends Jan and Bob came in from NY on Saturday. We met them doing the Sound of Music tour, and they are the BEST! Violet and Oliver warmed up to them fairly quickly, as you will see by the photos below. Both Jan and Bob are actors; you might recognize them from commercials, and Bob was just in the new TV show "Gossip Girls". Yeah, we have cool friends.

Monday was SO beautiful that we took our new stroller out for a walk. The babes loved it- they can face forward, and see everything- they were so, so good. It seems like just yesterday that Oliver was sobbing whenever we hit the cracks in the sidewalk! I love, love this age so much. We took them to the playground near us, and tried out the baby swing (which they loved) and the slide with mommy holding them (they felt neutral about this) and the see-saw (vaguely interested). I think we'll be going here a lot this summer!

We tried to photograph one last hurrah in the bathtub- they definitely can't fit in together anymore! We've got to buy a new one (or two?) for the big tub upstairs.

Lastly, I'm going to try to add some videos at the bottom. Both of them in the exersaucer, just playing. They have been so sweet and happy lately- I'll catch them laughing and "talking" to themselves, and I'll have to run to them and kiss their chubby little faces all over.
