wa-hoo!

after seven very sleepless nights, we have had two in a row of sleeping through the night (again). oh, I'm so, so hoping maybe the wakefulness was just a phase. if we do end up having some more bad nights, at least I know it's possible for them to sleep through still.
I think I also feel heartened because I found and old schedule for when the babies were two months old. We used to have to write everything down, to keep track of diapers, ounces fed, amount slept, etc. The day I found went like this:

7am: O wake up, eat 3 oz
7:30: V wake up, eat 2 oz, projectile vomit
7:45: O hiccups for 45 minutes
9am: both babies napping in boppy seats
9:40: V awake, inconsolable
9:45: O awake, spitting up twice
10am: both babies 3 oz
10:30 V crying, O very cranky.
11am: O asleep in sling, only sleep when I walk around house
V asleep in swing
11:20: V awake- crying

and so on.... NOT that I've forgotten how hard those days were, but it is amazing to look back on it. I feel like I'm the luckiest mommy in the WORLD for making it through that time and for the content, happy, sleeping, eating, playing babies I have today!

This morning the babies and I sat looking out the front window for 20 minutes, at a family of robins on the front lawn. I was actually a little surprised they could make out the small birds on the grass; I'm not entirely sure what their eyesight is at the age, so it was cool that I could see them seeing the birds. They were fascinated! They're usually pretty content watching people walk their dogs past the window or seeing the cars pass by, but the birds were new for them, and they were entranced! I think I will try to go out and buy a bird feeder this week to hang on the front porch. This could be our new morning ritual for spring!
